Black Sand Beach

Black Sand Beach is located on Bali's western coast facing the Indian Ocean, characterized by a volcanic black sand shoreline with a natural harbor facility. The spot features a jetty structure that provides some protection but creates navigation hazards. The beach break offers gentle, consistent conditions suitable for learning, with typical waves averaging 1.24 meters. Water temperatures remain warm year-round at approximately 27°C. The primary limitation is extremely low wind reliability at 0.1%, meaning conditions suitable for kitesurfing occur infrequently. When wind does develop, northerly directions provide optimal side-shore conditions parallel to the coast. The shallow waters extending from the black sand beach create a forgiving environment for beginners, though care must be taken to avoid the harbor infrastructure and boat traffic. This spot works best as a secondary location or during seasonal wind shifts rather than a primary destination.
