Rohrspitz is a small launch spot on Lake Constance (Bodensee), Europe's third-largest freshwater lake, located on the Swiss shore. The site features a narrow strip of usable water between residential development and shallow reed-lined margins. A marina with moored boats occupies the central launch area, restricting available space. The coastline faces west toward the lake, making north winds (0°) the ideal side-shore direction for safe progression along the shoreline. South winds would also work as side-shore conditions. However, wind reliability is extremely low at 1.9%, making sessions unpredictable. Water temperatures average 11.6°C, requiring appropriate wetsuits. This spot suits beginners due to protected lake conditions and minimal wave action, though limited wind availability frustrates regular practice. The shallow water near shore and boat traffic present ongoing hazards. Best conditions occur during rare northerly wind events in spring and autumn. Access may be restricted by private property and marina operations.
