Boundry Bay

Boundary Bay is a shallow estuarine bay located south of Vancouver, Canada, characterized by extensive mudflats and tidal influences. The coastline faces northwest toward the water, with residential subdivisions directly abutting the shore. The bay's primary constraint is its extremely shallow bathymetry and large exposed mudflat areas visible in the satellite image, which dominate during low tide periods. Average wind conditions are marginal at 5.6 knots with very low reliability (3.1%), making this an inconsistent kitesurfing destination. Best wind direction would be northeast (45°) for side-shore conditions. Water is choppy rather than wave-rich, with minimal swell generation. This spot is most suitable for beginners or light-wind enthusiasts during favorable tidal windows, though conditions are rarely ideal. The immediate residential proximity limits space for rigging and launching. Most activity would be restricted to narrow windows during high tide when mudflats are submerged.
