Cala Pischina

Cala Pischina is a small protected bay located on the northeastern coast of Sardinia, Italy. The spot features a northeast-facing shoreline with a sandy beach at the head of the bay, surrounded by dense Mediterranean forest. The bay provides some wind shadowing due to tree coverage and elevated terrain, explaining the low wind reliability of 18.4%. Ideal conditions occur with northwest winds (315°) that funnel parallel to the shore, providing side-shore conditions. The protected bay waters typically generate small chop rather than organized waves, averaging 0.83m. Best suited for intermediate kiters with experience in light wind, confined water conditions. The shallow nearshore areas and rocky features along the bay edges require careful navigation. Limited fetch within the bay restricts wave development. This spot works best during winter Atlantic low pressure systems when northwesterly winds push through the region consistently. Summer thermal breezes are often insufficient. Water temperatures around 18°C require suitable protection year-round.
