Pittulongu

Pittulongu is a shallow bay located on Sardinia's northeast coast, facing east toward the Tyrrhenian Sea. The spot features a curved sandy beach with moderate urban development, backed by Mediterranean scrubland and forested areas. The bay is sheltered by rocky headlands on both the north and south sides, creating a protected embayment with minimal wave generation. The spot is characterized by very light average winds (5.7 knots) with extremely poor wind reliability at only 6.1%, making consistent sessions rare. Water conditions are choppy rather than organized, with minimal swell energy (0.37m average). The shallow sandy bottom and protected nature make this suitable primarily for beginners practicing in manageable conditions when wind does arrive. However, the location struggles with insufficient and unreliable wind for regular kitesurfing. Best conditions occur with northern winds (0°) creating side-shore flow. This spot works best as a training location during occasional wind events rather than a destination for dedicated sessions.
