Fuglevik

Fuglevik is a protected bay located on the Oslo Fjord coast in southeastern Norway. The spot features a sheltered marine environment with a modern marina facility, residential development, and surrounding forests. The bay is enclosed by breakwater structures that create a natural harbor, limiting wave formation and wind intensity. Water conditions are typically choppy with very small wave heights (0.41m average). The low wind reliability (10.6%) and modest average wind speed (7.6 knots) indicate this is a marginal kitesurfing location. Best conditions occur with easterly or westerly winds that are side-shore to the north-south oriented coastline. The spot is primarily suited to beginner kiters practicing in controlled conditions or those with no alternative options. Significant considerations include dense boat traffic from the marina, shallow protected waters unsuitable for wave riding, and competition for space with recreational swimmers and other water users. The enclosed nature of the bay limits wind intensity and consistency. Winter conditions may provide slightly better wind windows.
