Grand Crohot

Grand Crohot is a beach break located on the Atlantic coast of southwestern France, near Biscarrosse. The coastline faces northwest toward the open ocean, with consistent Atlantic swell exposure. The beach is backed by dense forest interspersed with small residential areas and agricultural parcels, limiting development and maintaining natural character. Water conditions are rough with average wave heights of 1.59m and variable conditions typical of exposed Atlantic beaches. Wind reliability is quite low at 9.6%, making consistent sessions challenging. Best conditions occur with northeasterly winds (45°) that provide side-shore coverage parallel to the coast. The spot features scattered rocks and shallow sandbars that require navigation skills and local knowledge. Intermediate riders will find suitable conditions, particularly during swell events when wind cooperates. Access is somewhat limited by surrounding forest. This is a commitment spot rather than a reliable weekly destination, suited for kiters willing to chase favorable wind and swell windows.
