Kurrimine Beach is a developed coastal spot on Queensland's Far North Coast facing northeast into the Coral Sea. The area comprises multiple caravan parks and holiday facilities backed by dense rainforest, with sandy beach running along the entire developed section. The water is shallow near shore with sandbars and transitions to open ocean conditions offshore. This is primarily a beach break with minimal wave development due to the protected tropical coastline. Wind reliability is critically low at 0.4%, making consistent sessions rare. When northwest or westerly winds do arrive, they provide side-shore conditions. Average waves of 0.52m indicate this spot generates minimal swell, relying entirely on wind-generated chop. Water temperatures average 24.4°C year-round, suitable for minimal wetsuit use. Best suited for absolute beginners on the rare occasions wind aligns favorably. Significant pedestrian and caravan park traffic requires awareness. Limited wave potential and extremely unreliable wind make this a marginal kitesurfing destination; nearby reef and island breaks are preferable alternatives.
