L'Estartit Kitebeach

L'Estartit Kitebeach is located on the eastern Spanish Mediterranean coast near the Torroella de Montgrí region in Catalonia. The spot features a relatively sheltered beach break with a sandy bottom in the immediate nearshore zone, backed by mixed agricultural land and growing residential development inland. The eastward-facing coastline provides protection from westerly winds while remaining exposed to sea breezes. The shallow water conditions and visible rocky features near the shore make this primarily a beginner-friendly location, best suited for light-wind sessions with northerly winds providing ideal side-shore conditions. Water temperatures average around 17°C, requiring seasonal wetsuits. The low wind reliability (7.7%) and small average wave height (0.77m) indicate this is a consistent light-wind spot rather than a destination for powerful sessions. Kiters should be aware of the proximity to residential areas, shallow water hazards, and the narrow corridor between development and agricultural zones. Best conditions occur during morning sea breezes with northerly flow.
