Lynæs

Lynæs is a sheltered bay spot located on the northeast coast of Denmark, approximately 55 km northwest of Copenhagen. The spot features a protected lagoon area bordered by residential development to the north and a substantial marina complex to the south. The bay opens toward the northeast, providing some fetch from open water while remaining largely sheltered by the surrounding geography. Water conditions are typically choppy with minimal wave development due to fetch limitations. The spot is best suited for beginners and light-wind enthusiasts, as the average wind speed of 11 knots is modest and reliability is relatively low at 36.8%. Northwest winds (315°) provide the most favorable side-shore conditions parallel to the coastline. The presence of moored boats, piers, and shallow areas within the bay requires careful navigation and awareness. Cold water temperatures averaging 10.3°C necessitate appropriate thermal protection. The lagoon's protected nature makes it suitable for learning and progression, though more experienced kiters may find conditions limiting.
