Macinaggio

Macinaggio is a protected bay on the northeast coast of Corsica, France. The bay faces northeast with shallow to moderate waters enclosed by forested headlands. The spot consists of a sandy beach area suitable for launching, with deeper water extending seaward. A working marina occupies the southern section with recreational and commercial vessel traffic. The bay's enclosed nature provides protection from large Atlantic swells, resulting in small, choppy wind-driven waves typical of the Mediterranean. Side-shore conditions occur with northwest and southeast winds; northwest winds are most favorable given the bay's geometry. The low wind reliability (8.1%) and modest average wind speeds (6 knots) indicate this is a light-wind spot best suited for beginners and intermediate kiters on larger boards. Shallow areas near the beach require attention during water entry/exit. The active marina and moored boats necessitate careful route planning. Forested terrain inland limits wind consistency.
