Mangue Secco is a river delta spot in northeastern Brazil where a meandering river system flows into turquoise coastal waters. The site features dense mangrove forests fringing winding river channels that empty onto a sandy beach. The water is characterized as rough-chop, typical of delta environments where freshwater mixing creates turbulent conditions. This is a protected, low-energy setting suited primarily to beginners due to minimal wave development (1.01m average) and sheltered conditions. Wind is highly unreliable at 3.8% frequency, presenting a significant limitation. Northeast winds (45°) provide the most favorable side-shore orientation for the beach-facing coastline. The spot requires local knowledge of tidal movements and channel navigation. Shallow water near the mangrove margin and soft mud make for accessible entry, but riders must be aware of changing depths and subtle currents. Best suited for light-wind sessions during optimal tidal windows when experienced with delta conditions.
