Water conditions are generally rough with modest wave heights averaging 1.45m, typical of this exposed coastal region. The primary challenge at Nova Vaga is extremely low wind reliability at only 2.2%, making consistent kitesurfing sessions infrequent. When winds do arrive, northeast winds (45°) would provide ideal side-shore conditions parallel to the coast. Average wind speeds of 5.8 knots are marginal for kitesurfing and often insufficient. The shallow waters near shore and visible rocky areas require careful navigation. This spot suits beginner kiters during rare favorable wind windows, though the unreliable conditions make it unsuitable for progression-focused sessions. Access is limited by residential properties. Best visited during Atlantic storm systems that occasionally bring stronger northeasterly or easterly winds.
