Petit- Pokemouche

Petit-Pokemouche is a tidal delta environment located in eastern Canada where river channels wind through extensive salt marsh and tidal flats before meeting the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The spot features a sheltered water area bordered by vegetated land to the west and open water to the east. The delta configuration creates a choppy, confined water body with multiple current flows from the river system. Wind reliability is exceptionally low at 9.7%, making consistent sessions difficult. Best conditions occur with northerly winds that provide side-shore coverage parallel to the coastline. Water temperatures average only 5.8°C, requiring appropriate thermal protection. The shallow, silty bottom and soft tidal flats create challenging launch and landing zones. This location suits intermediate riders experienced in variable wind and tidal conditions, as it demands understanding of delta hydraulics and tidal movements. The spot is not suitable for progression work but offers local utility during rare favorable wind windows.
