Playa Grande is a sheltered beach break located on Spain's Costa Tropical, facing approximately south-southeast into the Mediterranean Sea. The spot consists of a sandy beach with developed infrastructure including residential areas, parking, and recreational facilities immediately inland. Wave conditions are consistently minimal with small light-swell averaging 0.56m. Wind conditions are marginal, with very low reliability at 2.0% and light average winds of 4.7 knots. Best wind direction is approximately east (75°), providing side-shore conditions parallel to the beach. The shallow, sandy bottom creates mellow conditions suitable for beginners when wind is present. However, the extremely low wind reliability makes this spot unreliable for serious kitesurfing practice. Water temperatures average 19.6°C, requiring seasonal wetsuits. The beach is heavily populated during peak season, presenting challenges for launch and landing. Groyne structures on the eastern side create additional navigation considerations. This spot functions primarily as a recreational beach rather than a dedicated kitesurfing destination.
