Vigna di Valle

Vigna di Valle is located on Lake Bracciano, a large freshwater volcanic lake in central Italy approximately 30km northwest of Rome. The spot sits on the northwestern shore where relatively developed residential areas transition to dense forest coverage. The lake offers protected water conditions typical of inland lakes, with minimal wave energy (0.62m average) and very light prevailing winds (5.1 knots). The north-facing beach provides a side-shore wind corridor from northwesterly directions (around 315°), though wind reliability is extremely low at only 3.2%. Water depths are shallow near the developed shore, making launch and landing straightforward. This spot suits beginners seeking flat-water practice in a protected environment with minimal swell. However, the extremely low wind reliability makes consistent sessions unlikely. Kiters should anticipate crowded conditions near residential areas, respect local boat traffic in the main lake body, and be aware that forest cover to the east limits wind development. Best conditions occur during rare strong pressure systems bringing sustained northwesterly flow.
