Vilanova i la Geltrú is a protected bay located along the Catalan coast where the shoreline faces northeast toward the Mediterranean. This is a beginner-friendly environment due to flat water and reduced wind intensity, though the extremely low wind availability makes consistent kitesurfing challenging. The spot requires careful navigation around the busy marina infrastructure and mooring buoys. Best conditions occur with northwest to north winds providing side-shore approach. Water temperature averages 17.8°C, requiring seasonal thermal protection. This location is better suited for light-wind specialists or as a training facility during rare windy periods rather than a primary kitesurfing destination.
