Gaeta is a crescent-shaped bay located on Italy's Tyrrhenian coast, formed between rocky headlands on the north and south. The beach break offers protection from Atlantic swells but receives limited wave energy, averaging only 0.58m. The bay faces southwest into the Tyrrhenian Sea, making northwest winds (315°) ideally side-shore for safe progression along the beach. Current wind reliability is extremely low at 0.2%, indicating this location experiences inconsistent wind conditions. The spot suits beginners due to small, manageable waves and sheltered waters, though the challenging wind patterns mean sessions occur infrequently. The dense urban development immediately behind the beach limits landing and spectator areas. Water temperature averages 18.2°C, requiring a wetsuit in most seasons. Kiters should be aware of boat traffic from the marina on the eastern side and account for the narrow bay geometry when planning launch and landing zones. Summer thermal winds offer the most reliable conditions.
