Kingscliff

Kingscliff is a beach break located on the far north coast of New South Wales, where a small river meets the Tasman Sea. The northeast-facing beach provides natural wave generation from ocean swells. A river outlet creates freshwater discharge visible in the satellite imagery, which can generate localized current patterns affecting water conditions. The spot is sheltered by a rocky headland to the south and backed by residential development. With average wave heights of 1.44m and low wind reliability at 0.8%, conditions are generally small and inconsistent. Northwest winds provide side-shore conditions, though the area experiences predominantly light winds. The relatively protected nature and modest wave heights make this suitable for beginners during favorable conditions, though the small average swell and limited wind make it unreliable for regular kitesurfing. The river mouth should be avoided due to current and discharge patterns. Best conditions occur during winter swells with northwest wind alignment.
