Old Mill

Old Mill is a protected lagoon system located in northern Mexico along the Pacific coast, characterized by shallow waters separated from the open ocean by barrier beaches and dunes. The lagoon features complex internal channels and wetland areas visible in the satellite imagery, with agricultural land dominating the inland regions. This is primarily a lagoon spot suited for beginners due to shallow, protected waters that reduce hazard exposure. Ideal wind direction is from the northeast (45°), providing side-shore conditions parallel to the main coastline orientation. The spot experiences very low wind reliability at 0.8%, making sessions inconsistent. Average conditions include modest wave heights around 1.3m and water temperatures near 17°C. Kiters should be aware of variable water depths, soft bottom conditions, and the complex internal channel system. The shallow lagoon environment provides natural protection but requires knowledge of tidal cycles and channel locations. Best suited for skill development and light-wind practice rather than advanced high-wind sessions.
