Sarigerme

Sarigerme is a sheltered bay located on Turkey's southwestern Mediterranean coast, characterized by shallow waters, sandy beaches, and extensive lagoon systems. The spot faces southward into the Mediterranean with mountainous terrain and pine forests to the north providing wind obstruction. This is primarily a protected bay environment with resort development concentrated on the eastern section and natural lagoons dominating the west. The extremely low wind reliability (0.6%) and weak average winds (4.5 knots) make this a challenging spot requiring optimal conditions. When wind does arrive, easterly or westerly directions provide side-shore approaches. Shallow waters and numerous obstacles including vegetation, shallow banks, and boat traffic limit operational areas. The spot suits beginners during rare strong wind windows due to protected waters, but marginal wind statistics mean consistent sessions are unlikely. Kiters should expect very limited riding days annually and plan accordingly. Local knowledge regarding safe launch zones away from resort areas and navigation around shallow sections is essential.
